The title of this entry is something I said on Thursday in response to Heather's trying to explain why she shouldn't be killed. I can't really remember the context, but that doesn't matter.
This past week really tried it's best to make sure I didn't see 21. I'll take this victory and hopefully get to bed soon because I'm tired. A short summary of everything I had to do this past week: lab report (ended up being 9 pages), new lab, concept paper, ECE435 (analog controls) homework, ECE435 test, ECE403 homework that ended up getting pushed back thank goodness, recording, normal Wolfgang practice, get an apartment for next year... I can't remember if there was anything else. I was very stressed out. I freaked out Matt R. at Wolfgang practice Monday night, which only made me more upset. I just wanted people to be quiet for Vinay so we could work on our music, but Wolfgang is notoriously ADD. You know, recently I've come to like Vinay more and more, he seems to respect me more than I thought he did or would or something.
So, it was a stressful week, that's been established. You'd think that once I got home from class the day before my birthday, being Friday, that I'd be able to relax and hang out with people. Wrong. I come back to find that, on my desktop, AIM has opened an IM window for almost all 248 people on my buddy list. I thought that was strange and stupid, so I checked to make sure there were no important messages and closed them. Then I tried to open a link to a Penny Arcade comic Jer had sent me. Firefox opens and I'm redirected; redirected to a NCSU Resnet page telling me that my MAC address for my desktop has been banned. Apparently it had caught something and was spamming the network. Yeah, so I spent the next four hours working on that with help from James, the guy that went photo hunting with me last semester. He got me unbanned and helped me find some software to scan my computer very thoroughly. I'd already removed some worm thing before I enlisted his help, but because I'd made it his problem I had to make sure my system was clean. Zack N. actually got online and IMed me, which is strange because he's rarely online. Unfortunately for my position with the computer I couldn't hang out with him and Tony. Instead I joined Hannah and Sam in my apartment watching old Scrubs episodes.
Eventually Heather and Roommate appeared and we all hung out, played some DDR, which I've actually kind of taken to. At midnight I received a lovely call from Zack and Tony in which they sang a sort of demonic version of happy birthday and then the fridge told me happy birthday too. Yes, Zack informed me that his fridge told me happy birthday. I don't question these things. Eventually people dispersed and sleep was had.
Next morning... well, afternoon, Heather and I went to the grocery store and I didn't buy alcohol. Cool. Joe called because apparently he didn't believe Megan that it was my birthday. At least I got to talk to them, that made me happy. We hung out until around 5 or 6 and then got Curtis and went to 607. At 607 people were hungry so we went straight for dinner. I decided before I got to 607 that I wanted to go to Gypsy's Shiny Diner; I made a decision! We snagged the corner booth and shoved nine people into it with one chair at the open corner. Pictures were taken, which I must procure from Verd. Adam and I played music on the jukebox. I danced around and ate a milkshake. Chris got a crazy sandwich that would kill him if he were fat, but he's too skinny. I convinced people to put sugar on the Gypsy chips.
We went to the Lowes Foods around the corner and I bought alcohol. I know Brian may be dissappointed. I was amused. We took Curtis back to campus because he had stuff he had to get done. Then we chilled at 607. Verd and Theo had worked together to make me a cake which was a fun addition to the cupcakes Heather had made and brought over too. Heather and I were canvases for Chris, Adam, and Jer. David busted out his new season two of Pete & Pete. It was a fun evening.
bad week,
birthday
