(no subject)
So Pennsic year 2 was much better than Pennsic year 1. We knew our way around, we went to see battles. We went to see friends - what a great feeling that was. I went to more classes. I took pictures. We had a fire every night (except the one rainy night). Because of friends and feeling the area better, I finally took a walk around the entire site. Saw the lake. Saw great places. Inspiring for next year. We both really enjoyed ourselves, and can't wait for next year.
Wedding-wise, we're almost done with our invitations. Hopefully we can get them to the USPS by Saturday. We bought numerous great things at Pennsic for the wedding. Oddest to bring home might have been the big shield. Love the thing, though. Need to order shirts for Da Boyz, rent kilts, and do 101 other little things. Getting there. Less than 2 months, now.
Got more new Heroscape stuff. While that made me happy, it makes me sad to think that I haven't even played one game with the PREVIOUS set of expansions yet. Though Nilfheim and Braxas, being the biggest dragons and probably biggest models yet, do make me quite happy. I just need two sets of Thaelenk's Tundra, and then I can happily wait for the castle set to come out. Now, if only places around here would stock it better, I'd be set.
Birthday was good. Karen promised me chinese for lunch, but she wound up eating with a client instead. Ed Kline spends way too much money on her. She did buy me ice cream, though. I went up to State College Saturday to visit Matt. We had good times. It's astounding to see how much has changed downtown and on campus. We drove past the old Balford's and I pointed out the hole and yelled out "there used to something there!" Which made Matt laugh a lot. I do miss the familiarity, though. I took a slow walk around campus, remembering this and that. Seeing old paths I used to take to get here and there. Saw the old piazza between the music and arts buildings where Mel and I built our friendship. At least that hasn't changed. Definitely don't miss much about college, but I do miss knowing that town so very very well. Oh, and the idea that I can walk all over the place is nice. real nice. can't quite do that out here. maybe if I move further into Mechanicsburg.
Been up and down a lot lately. I think I just want the wedding to be over.
Pinky and the Brain is just as funny now as it was then.
Fables just continues to get better. Flight Volume 3 had good stuff in it... but I think I prefer the other volumes. Maybe they need to get back to somewhat-flying-related stories.
