"You are free to fly away. Fly, fly away." Good to know that option's open to me.
Perhaps I'm alone here, but I didn't choose Temple for its outstanding reputation. I chose it because there were few other doors open to me.
My problem doesn't stem from Temple stepping up its standards. It comes from me having to spend thousands of dollars for busy work that covers what I was supposed to learn in high school, but was too bored to. IH for example. It's great that the university wants to expose students to time-proven texts. I don't consider myself to be an incredibly cultured person, yet I did not learn a single thing in those classes that I didn't know before (barring of course the misinformation Dr. Jih gave us on a daily basis. Those lessons were indeed new to me. Hardly worth whatever 6 credits (9 if you take into consideration the time I dropped it out of frustration.) Things like that pop up everywhere. Professors just teaching their platforms and not taking our education seriously. It's great if you haven't encountered these problems. I'm happy for you. You have found your niche and you have resources helping you reach your professional goal. Nothing wrong with a well-rounded education. I just feel that I'm not getting one anyway. So how it stands: 1) A general, yet unfulfilling education with a few student films or 2) A specialized hands on education on what I plan to do in life which would guarantee me an internship, then job, with skills in every area.
That's what I face. You are perfectly entitled to say what you will, just as I am. However, some points seem like a low blow. But enough of that.

And if you choose to go to a trade school, then that seems like a definite decision. I truly don't know enough about them to argue.
Man love,
