Just before bed...

Hey everyone!  I have been neglecting my real journal way more than I have this one, so you should feel semi-privileged.  I am trying to find a comfortable medium for both.

A lot has progressed with the newspaper.  The article that I last talked about (my first one) came out great.  It actually made the front page.  It was a big thrill to see my work in print and with the byline.

My really big newspaper news: I currently have column that is published every other Friday!  It comes with a headshot of me and everything.  Needless to say, it’s quite a thrill.  My first editorial was about the dangerous traffic situations of Philly for a pedestrian.  I was really happy with the final product and it looked great in print.  My next editorial is about the aspects of campus security that can be improved.  I’m writing it this weekend.  My buddies James and Michelle helped me out this Monday night by going around campus with me after dark to find the creepy places of Temple.  Oh, we definitely found them!  Especially the Architecture building area, where James was mugged (if you really want to know, email me).  Thanks guys.

I went home for the first time during the first week of October.  It was one of the most incredible weekends ever.  Spent good quality time with family.  Hugged my dog like crazy.  Had lunch with Coops and Mike.  Reunited with the best friends that I’ve ever had in my life (I love you guys).  And ravaged Amanda.  HAHAHAHA!  It was incredible to see her.  I think it’s awesome that we really don’t mind being separated from each other but when we do get to see each other again, we appreciate it so much.  We went for a Sunday morning drive (and I mean early morning).  God, I must’ve been crazy.  No, I’m just kidding.  It was incredible.  Good quality time together.

This Saturday Michelle and I are going into NYC to see Chicago on Broadway!  It’s a Temple sponsored trip, so transportation and tickets are only $25.  It’s amazing.  Anyway, all our friends were supposed to go, but the tickets were sold out before they had a chance.  Bah!  Oh well, Michelle and I will rape NYC with just the two of us.

I’d love to write more here, but I am really intent on getting to bed early tonight (it’s already midnight).  I felt really sleep-deprived this morning and I had a really busy day.  I just wanted to update you guys.  I absolutely love it here, but home still calls out to me.

Everyone at PLHS: keep up the good work and continue to enjoy and appreciate it.

PS: To those who I do not talk to on a regular basis, I can be reached at jessenorth@hotmail.com.  I would absolutely love to receive an email from some of the people that I miss from PLHS that I don’t normally talk to.  Hey, if you don’t wanna email me, well, that’s fine too.  Take care.
