Dream
I often (say, every few months) have a dream that I got a new job that I start the next day. Sometimes related to my current job, sometimes completely unrelated. Then, in the dream, I forget to go to this new job and go off on an adventure. Then, at the end of my dream, I suddenly remember this new job and go 'Oh well'.
In the meantime, I still exist. Slightly.
