Huh. Memes I've been meaning to post for awhile.

TV MOMENTS MEME

Best introduction to a TV series? (meaning movies, pilot episodes and miniseries, not credits)
Hm... Lost had a pretty darn good pilot.

Most frustrating cliffhanger for a TV series?
The only cliffhanger I ever freaked out about was probably the Alias one, 2nd season. But as for cancelled shows...the Christy one stuck with me for a long time. It was ridiculously melodramatic and you knew who she chose in the book, but ugh! I hated that they just *left* it that way.

Best resolved sexual tension in a TV series?
I'm distracted because suzvoy said Scarecrow and Mrs. King, and I can't help thinking that, yeah, they *did* have the most reasonable and lastingly happy resolution of, like, any TV couple. The Seth/Summer on The OC nearly pulled it off, during the first season (and then they lost it completely).

Most heartwrenching character death?
Buffy. Does that count?

Most upsetting (but not heartwrenching) character death?
Boone, Lost. Wasn't nearly heartwrenching enough. I read a TV Guide article where Ian Somerhalder said they should have had an episode after Boone's death where Shannon dealt with her grief, and he was completely right.

Most surprising character death?
Kellie Martin's character..Lucy, that was her name--on ER. Dude, did you *see* that episode? It was cool.

Best funeral scene/episode in a TV series?
Whitney's Dad on Smallville. 'Course that's just the only one that comes to mind. But still, it was so pretty I rewatch the episode *just* for that. Which seems kind of weird, especially since I always have to rant at Clark/Lana afterwards.

Most frustrating character replacement in a TV series?
*tries not to mention Bonanza* Jimmy, New Adv of L&C. Because I pretty much just don't watch any shows that up and replace characters in the middle. On the upside, I watched Dr Quinn and totally *prefered* the new Colleen.

TV show that would have been much better if all of the characters were fuzzy talking animals?
Ahahaha. One Tree Hill. *snickers*

TV show that would have been much worse off if all of the characters were fuzzy talking animals?
Um. Birds of Prey, because they wouldn't be able to do all those gratuitous cleavage shots that were the only thing that kept it on that long.

I recently had to switch from Wal-Mart rentals to Netflix. So I guess it's the right time to do this one:

1) Total number of fandoms I like:
Ha. There's this list on my userinfo...it's, um, really long.

2) My first fandom ever:
*cringe* I can't remember if ER or Dawson's Creek came first, but I'm pretty sure it was the Carol/Doug. I used to skip the sex scenes. *snickers*

3) My most recent fandom:
Star Wars (Along with SWRPS, I'm so bad), and I am *so* obsessed that it's a good thing I finished dingogrrl's birthday story before I saw Episode III or I might never have gotten back into it.

4) Five fandoms that currently mean a lot to me: with explanations

Smallville...but I have to include the whole DC 'verse here, really
This is my fantasy fandom. I mean, you can do *so* much with these characters and it...I mean, come on. It's freaking awesome how much room there is to move around. And that's it. This one hits hard, and it lasts. Le sigh.

Battlestar Galactica
Because it's connected to so many of the things I love. And it has Apollo, who is one of the most ethical, complex, and--forgive me for the word--freakin' manly characters on television. Plus, exploration of politics minus the RL connections. And space battles, on TV, weakly, eeee! And the language, man, I love it...frak, viper, raptor, mmmm. Also I love the name Starbuck and always have. It deserved a good series like this to show it off.

Um...those are really my big "they mean something to me" shows right now. And it's muchmuchmuch too late for me to decide on 3 others. (Lost and Veronica Mars would probably make the cut, but I have no idea how they'll stand the test of time, so I'm uncomfortable with being all fanatical fannish over them.)

Big plan for tomorrow: visit Burger King, buy up all the cool Star Wars toys. In hopes of steering clear of Wal-Mart's heavily promoted selection.
