So, Brandon Routh and Kristin Kreuk are apparently going to be in the next season of Chuck. I can't tell if one sort of cancels out the joy of the other, so I kind of really want to see this. I recently watched Table For Three, a romantic comedy with Brandon Routh playing a lovable dork. The movie had questionable merit, though it managed to be entertaining. Anyway, it served to confirm that Brandon Routh is adorable, and not a bad actor, and I totally want to see him in Chuck right now omigosh. I will be putting Chuck back on my must-list.
I am reading Michael Chabon's most recent book, Gentlemen of the Road. Michael Chabon remains the only author (of books) that I keep on the top of my must-read list. But his latest books have tended to hang themselves on loops of metaphor and over-extend themselves in long, descriptive sentences. I have to admit that with this book, as with Yiddish Policeman's Union, I kind of wanted to throw the book aside within the first 3 pages. The only thing that saved it was the pictures. I like pictures; they tend to contradict pretension. Also, it happened to be the only book I had with me on a day when I wanted to lounge in the sun at a park, so I'm sticking with it. It's turning into a fairly fun, if surprisingly light, read. As usual, Chabon manages to hook my interest with his insertion and careful treatment of Jewish culture and history.
