I hope everybody had a very merry Christmas. I did! Got lots of pop culture presents, aka my favorite new things.
3 new t-shirts with fun things printed on them, including
this one that advertises the Boars Nest. Dukes of Hazzard wear at last!
Cozy new flannel pants, boxers and cozy new polartec hoodie and vest, lots of socks and underwears and stuff
Superman pillowcase that matches my Batman one!
Superman plush doll
Superman bubble bath (seriously, some of those character-themed bubble bath bottles are cooler than the statue toys)
Serenity-imprinted rock from
dingogrrl (in a fancy little box, it's really neat)
Movies in 15 Minutes book, which I've been giggling over all over again (Attack of the Clones is probably my favorite parody ever)
Justice League blanket (very soft!) and inflatable chair
Superman mini lunchbox, keychain, pens, toothbrush
Superman Returns calendar!
Also a very nice portable lapdesk and a lumbar pillow to sorta go with it
You don't think people know who I like or anything, right? *g*
On Sunday, while I baked the most fabulous sugar and gingerbread cookies ever, I had the chance to finish listening to the BSG roundtable. It's something like 3 hours long, and when you DL it from the SciFi website it comes in one piece, so there's a point at which they seem to think they aren't being recorded
and yet they *are*. They didn't say anything too shocking, just dissed some other shows (apparently lumping them all together as mere entertainment, or something), but I thought it was pretty funny.
You know, I don't blame anybody who thinks BSG is somehow "more" significant for dealing with significant issues head-on. But saying "BSG is important because it's important to people who watch it" pretty much screws your argument against *anything* that's important to *anyone*, ya know? I'm sure there's some kid with cancer somewhere who gets through the days by watching My Name is Earl, that's all I'm sayin'.
Also, Grey's Anatomy and BSG are the only shows I watch as they air anymore (though I'm picking 24 back up in January), so I find it hilarious that GA gets picked on as "the kind of show people who aren't smart enough to appreciate Battlestar watch" so often. /unrelated
