A Brief Introduction to Live Action Roleplaying by wldnst. Danny/Stiles. Danny POV.
I read this when the author first published it on AO3, and I reread it again tonight. It's even better the second time, probably because I'm actually appreciating the details and not in a hurry to make it to lunch.
It's so good. I love fics that use messages/emails/written communication with in the fic. Sometimes it can be overwhelming, but not in this fic. It's the perfect mix of narrative and messages and each add so much.
I love the dual Danny/Stiles, Batman/Wolverine plot. I love the queer in Beacon Hills theme that pops up from time to time. I love that Danny sighs about how coming out is a continuous process. Their identities seem so genuine and so high school, without it being a stereotype or over the top, and I just really really appreciate it.
The story is good. It's fast paced, and authentic. Stiles isn't OOC. And the author totally acknowledges that in the show, in canon, Stiles has in fact been kind of an ass to Danny. But they take that, and they evolve the relationship so that you could really see this happening in season 3 (not that it will, which I'm totally bummed about, but the authenticity just makes this fic SO MUCH BETTER).
I love Lydia in this fic too. So much. I love all the secondary characters. It really does just feel like canon except that it's from Danny's POV. Which is really what we all need.
So good. I can't recommend it enough.
