I'm half watching elementary, half not. I spent all day at grad school, my concentration is shot.
But things:
1~We Love Women! Multifandom Friending Meme~

2. So there is a spoiler that Lydia might have the affections of one of the ~new wolves in town~. Which, I just worry. Because I swear, I'm not going to be ok with another season of Lydia having her agency taken away. I really really hope that this relationship (platonic or romantic) is a happy and consensual and not manipulative and painful, and abusive. Though, honestly, I'd just prefer if she could have a season focused on her, and her personal relationship with herself and coping with everything from s1/2.
3. Fic rec: Interstate Highway. Gen fic, focusing on Lydia. So so great. I absolutely adore Lydia's characterization in this fic.
4. There was just a turtle on Elementary. This is very good.
5. Today, in my women's health class we were talking about gender/sex. And like, it was the most cissexist discussion I have ever been a part of. A nice reminder that even in the grad school bubble, in what is a relatively liberal major, people still have no idea. And people will always see me as not a person. Everyone kept mentioning these like Lifetime movies they saw and popularized news stories, and this is EXACTLY WHY I TALK ABOUT QUEER REPRESENTATION IN MEDIA BECAUSE IT CAN EFFECT A REAL PERSON AND THEIR REAL OPINIONS. THIS IS WHY WE NEED META. WHY WE NEED TO POINT STUFF OUT. WHY WE NEED THE MEDIA TO BE CULTURALLY COMPETENT. Thank you and goodnight.
