Authors note Just a random idea I had. This is really quite short, and I don’t know whether to carry it on or not; so leave a comment if you’d like to read more.
I couldn’t believe he was making me do this. Me… of all people. Singing lessons? Was he kidding me? Obviously not, by the serious look on his face.
“Why?” I asked, with a pained look on my face.
“Because I want you to… it’s nothing serious, it’s just a bit of fun really” The seriousness had fallen from his features now, to reveal a slight smile.
“Do I have to? You know I can’t sing; it would just be pointless. I don’t want to embarrass myself” I purposely crumpled my face up, to show my un-enthusiasm.
“You really don’t see yourself clearly do you? Or should I say hear yourself? He looked at my expression, waiting for it to change. It didn’t. He sighed. “Bella, I’ve heard you sing. You do it all the time when you’re in the shower.”
My mouth fell open in shock. I closed it swiftly and replied, “I do?”
“Yes, Bella. You’re brilliant” He looked pleased with himself.
“Not as good as you” I mumbled, not used to being told I was good at something.
“Well, that’s why we want to give you lessons.” Edward gave me a wide grin and took my hand in his.
I struggled to get my hand out from under his “We?!” I practically shouted. “Who’s we?”
“Me, Alice. the whole family really. Emmett is particularly good.”
“Seriously? You’re not taking me to a professional?”
“No, of course not. Why would we pay for a professional when you can have seven for free?” He looked confused.
“I suppose so. When will it be?” I asked, giving in. Resistance to a vampire, especially Edward, was futile.
“Whenever you’re free. Tomorrow evening?” He knew my schedule off by heart.
I rolled my eyes “Sure. What will we be singing?”
“What would you like to sing?” He said, happy that he’d won me over.
“Surprise me” I replied.
