I remember the gleam in your eye,
When you looked into mine,
And I could blindly see,
Similar feelings for me.
Not knowing what to do,
You gave up on me,
So I gave up on you.

I lay in my bed,
Thoughts rushing through my head,
About what might have been,
If things were different.
I think about you,
And what we went through,
But we can never go back again.

I wish it could be,
Different with me,
A lovely mistake,
A heart to unbreak,
See from my view,
What I see in you,
And how it hurts me everyday.

Now you are like a tattoo,
That I can't undo,
Because I see you almost everyday.
And as much as I might hope,
I just end up having to mope,
And walk the other way.

I wish it could be,
Different with me,
A lovely mistake,
A heart to unbreak,
See from my view,
What I see in you,
And how it taunts me everyday.

I haven't moved on,
But learned to get along,
With a love not shared.
Like vision purposely impaired,
I pretend your not there,
Hoping someone else can unbreak.

It hurts me in many ways,
And it taunts me everyday.
Everyday.
