Autumn pics

Hi, uh. Long time no see? Well, it's not really a come back. I've not really been gone, only been lurking a lot trying to keep up with everyone here. It's true that I can't spend that much time on LJ, though. Having not that much free time between taking care of my parents, working too much and sleeping instead of keeping awake on american hours. Things should get less hectic on the work front after Christmas, so I hope I'll be able to interact more, but until then, all will depend on my energy level! I didn't manage to answer all the comments from two months ago, though I enjoyed them very much. I'm so sorry! I hope I'll do better in the future... *hides*

This particular week hasn't been bad, though. My sister in here with her son and did a lot of things with both of my parents, which means I had more time for myself. It was a low-lecture week, too so that I even painted. First finished thing since September, my friends!

Here's the preview:

I'm fascinated by the faint traces of autumn in our area - most of the vegetation is still very much green, though it's beginning to be very cold, even freezing at night. The vines are especially noticeable: depending on varieties and orientation, they're mostly green, or brownish, or red and yellow. In some of them, most of the plant remains green, and one only branch becomes deep red or purple. I love that! I took a few photos three weeks ago, and got myself to paint one specimen today, before they all get clipped down for the winter.

First, the painting.

Found this particular vine one hundred meters behind my house and sat down between the vine rows to paint. I took much longer than it looks! A bit more than two hours, so that the sun was all gone when I stopped -because I couldn't see the colours I used, not because it was finished. So the left bottom part was painted without details not light, I'm afraid. With the sunset, the temperature went down, wich made my back sort of contract and twist, ouch! But all in all, painting felt really soothing, so I'm feeling good. And might even have won a back massage this evening, yay!

And some pictures taken during a walk with Franck and my parents, in late October.

Autumn here is like a small spring, with a lot of new green weeds and some flowers enjoying the return of rain.

Multicoloured vines

A last one. Guess what it is!

Hope you enjoyed!

And lots of hugs to everyone in my flist who needs it. ♥
