art-and-picspam, part one : going camping!

Sep 17, 2006 15:21

So we went camping in the most remote place ever! Only a few old people living year long in the villages, and not many tourists either! Which is exactly what I needed.

So here's a sight of the camping place and the surroundings...

The village is called Saint Auban, and the spectacular dent in the cliff on the left is called locally a clue :) Both paintings were done on the afternoon, trying to get the light right though of course it changes quicker than I can paint!

And here are two photos of just the village taken from our tent. The cloudiest one what from the day we decided to make a mountain climb, of course.

And here's the Clue de Saint Auban, painted in the evening. Struggling with the colours, much? But I'm happy with the way I didn't get lost in the details and got the sky reasonably right.

Here's how it looked another day, and from a slightly different point of view :

That's all for the paintings!

Let me now inflict you a few more photos.

That's me, the day we arrived! I was helping with setting up the camp :)

And views of our steady little tent, and our faithful car (who is entering its nineteenth year now, and still working quite well!

We've been living between the car and the tent for one week, eating on a bedsheet and cooking on the ground. Lots of fun, I tell you :D

A last one! My favourite sight while I was resting on my back while eating...

Thought you were done with it? Well, there are still the walking around pics, and the back home pics!

this way, if you wish so
