I've watched season one of Sex and the City and about half of season two* (why yes, I am bored, how did you guess?) and honestly, I'm on Big's side. I only decided to watch the show 'cause I liked the film but dude! I thought this was supposed to be all about women being all powerful and crap. This is four women, obsessing about men! How is that empowering? Well, okay, Samantha might be on the liberation line. But OMG the very narrator of the show is obsessed about a man and so damn needy that it makes me cringe to be part of the same sex! She keeps trying to force this guy into situations that even a blind rat can see he's not ready for!
Honestly, Buffy and even Torchwood have better role models for women than this show.
On a side note, is New York really like that? Full of women obsessed with too expensive shoes and on the edge of a nervous breakdown?
*While making icons. Because I'm afraid the show cannot hold my attention all by itself.
