OOC: Not to be rude, but I'd like it if someone other than Cass could respond to it. ;) You know... someone more serious and who could possibly get along with her. I'd like to get to know Nashira a bit better, and that's only possible if the thread can last a bit longer than six comments. XD

The sight of the horse had diverted her attention so much that only once Addy spoke up did Nashira notice the rider. Despite Addy's small stature, the horse gave her the advantage of height, leaving Nashira looking up at her.
Her attention then went to the gun she was holding in her hands before she looked back up at the stranger again. Despite 'contraption' not exactly being the most flattering term, the way Addy said it made the whole sentence sound like a compliment and it filled her with a rare rush of pride.
"This here?" There was a brief stroke over the outside. "It's my favourite. One of the best, though without all the additional advanced gadgets, which allows you to use your true marksmanship skills."

"I been hearin' 'bout how good all the guns are 'round here." she said, "Certainly sound efficient enough, although I think I might stick with m'own for the time bein'."
A friendly smile stretched her pale features as she gave a tip of her hat, "Name's Addy. What can I call you?"
(OOC: What was the wrong account?)

"They are alright," Nashira offered her own opinion. "Some are better than others. And each variety requires special techniques and skills to use it. Though mine does not come from around here. It's an official military weapon only offered up to soldiers in Zahidan, where I come from."
A small nod followed her opinion about guns, as well as it being a response to the friendly smile. "My name is Nashira Amir." Dark eyes examined the small girl. "And I don't think I have seen you around on campus ground before. Have you only just arrived?"

Addy gave a quiet nod at Nashira's opinion. Zahidan. Not a country she was familiar with. She took the close examination in stride and closed the distance between herself and the taller girl.
"Yeah, you could say that..." she said, a slight chuckle escaping in her reply, "I've only been 'round these parts for a coupla days. Haven't really been strollin' around this area, though."

Btw, in case it helps... Nashira looks Arabian, Zahidan is also an Arabian country, except for all the 'silly' rules of women being hidden and such."Are you a new student as well?" Nashira had originally thought most new students would arrive precisely on time, if not weeks before it, just like she had. But recent experience had taught her that a lot of girls came in later, if not late ( ... )

"Nope...I ain't takein' any classes." she said. The concept of school seemed very foriegn to her. She had never particpated in formal schooling. At least not to her recollection. Besides, affording the costs of admission? Addy was flat broke.
She smirked and glanced down at the weapon strapped to her hip, "Not too sure what they do an' don't make nowadays...but it's a good one. Very steady an' well balanced."
She pulled it from the holster and spun it around her finger. When it came to a stop, she held it towards Nashira, grip first, "Ya wanna try it out?"

"Go right on ahead!" she repeated her offer with enthusiasm. Plus, she figured she sounded very suspicious. And what better way to put unnecessary suspicions at ease than by offering an olive branch. If by "olive branch" Addy meant "revolver".
"An' don't misunderstand...I ain't residin' in the dorms or nothin'. I just set up camp off in' the woods." with her other hand she gestered in the general direction she had come from.

She gave another bright and friendly smile as Nashira took the gun in her hand. The girl obviously had quite an affinity towards firearms.
"Now...as for specifics..." she started up again, "As in my comin' to be in this particular part o' the world...that's a bit complicated. Can't say I'm all together certain what brought me here, m'self."

She raised the gun to aim at some non-existent points. It had a limited amount of bullets, and she wasn't quite sure if they were able to replace any lost bullets. No, she'd better not try any shooting. Addy might need all the bullets she still had left.
It was with some regret that she handed the gun back to the proper owner. "Most of us are here to study and learn. If you are not here for that purpose, then I cannot help you either. Though I am sure you will discover it soon enough."

"So, just what are ya hopin' to learn here...if ya don't mind m'askin', o'course." she inquired.

"I wish to improve my skills, so that when I return to my country I have a better chance on promotion," the soldier stated simply. "I wish to make my parents proud of my and uphold the family honour. I hope to do that by trying to become the youngest captain, if not something higher, of our army. By following extra subjects abroad, my chances of such promotions increase. I have chosen this school because it is one of the best schools available and they offer the subjects best suited to my job. I can improve my skills in firearms here, and learn how to fight with a sword and bow. I also learn about various other subjects that have my interest and that hopefully broadens my knowledge about the world."

The answer told her quite a lot. Then again, so did Nashira's handeling of her gun. All the marks of a dedicated soldier.
"So, how's a gal like you get into the military life? It a family sorta thing?"
Most military familyies, from her understanding, had two effects on their children. A deep sense of respect for the service and a complete resenment towards it. And Nashira seemed to be a product of the former as opposed to the latter.
