Chapter 2

Jaejoong seemed to be paralyzed as he stood like a statue in the middle of the street, his eyes never leaving Yunho’s face. He didn’t know what to do. Should he approach Yunho? Should he pretend like he didn’t see him?

Yunho already finished talking to the two business men. A black Audi stopped in front of the building. Two men went outside of the car and approached Yunho. They bowed low in respect. Like his own personal bodyguards, they escorted Yunho to the car. One of the two men in black suits with matching black shades opened the car door for him.

Watching Yunho preparing to leave made Jaejoong take action. He finally saw the man that suddenly disappeared from his life without a word. He should definitely seize the chance to talk to Yunho. Who knows when he would be able to see him again? It was possible that it could be Jaejoong’s last chance to see him.

Jaejoong saw the door of Yunho’s car close. It was his cue and he quickly sprinted forward to catch up. As he was running, the two men who escorted Yunho resumed their seats in the car. He heard the car’s engine come to life and he knew that he needed to move faster. Jaejoong increased his speed, not bothering whether his body was still tired from a day’s hard work. At that moment, everything else except Yunho was unimportant.

The black Audi had only moved a meter when Jaejoong suddenly appeared in front. The car came to a halt and the man seating beside the driver went out of the car.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” the man said in a furious voice.

“I’m very sorry for doing that. I need to speak to Yunho.” Jaejoong pleaded. He was very desperate to talk to Yunho. He still had many questions that only Yunho could answer.

“Yunho? Tch, you impolite bastard. How dare you call our Master by his first name?”

“Please! I really need to talk to him.” Jaejoong was about to walk over to Yunho’s side of the car when a hand grabbed his arm.

“You’re not allowed to talk to him. Now scram!” the man warned.

“Yah! Let go of me!” Jaejoong struggled from the man’s hold. Suddenly, one of the car doors opened and revealed Yunho.

“Let go of him.” Yunho commanded. His tone was very authoritative and the man immediately let go of Jaejoong.

“Master, you know this man?” the man asked.

“No.” Yunho said as he gazed with a cold expression on Jaejoong. He uttered the word that crushed Jaejoong’s heart.

Time seemed to have stopped for Jaejoong. He heard no other sound apart from the word “No” escaping Yunho’s mouth and the breaking of his heart. The pain was too much for Jaejoong to bear. The man that he loved with all his heart, the man that left him two years ago without a word, the man that he saw again after two years of pain and torture, was the same man who made his heart break into a million pieces.

When Yunho suddenly disappeared, Jaejoong waited patiently for him to come back. He didn’t have any ill feelings or hatred towards Yunho. He always told himself that Yunho must have a reason for leaving him. He waited to see him again and that time had come. Fate was working its miracles again. At a very unexpected instance, Jaejoong saw Yunho.

But Yunho crushed Jaejoong’s heart and hope. The cold stare, Yunho pretending to not know Jaejoong, it was all too much for Jaejoong. He felt pathetic for thinking that Yunho loved him. He felt like an idiot for clinging on the hope that Yunho had a reason for leaving. Yunho’s message was very clear to him. Yunho didn’t love him. His love was a waste. Yunho treated his feelings like a pile of dirt, easy to get rid of. When Yunho said no, Jaejoong felt that his love was thrown away harshly to the wind, like it was something insignificant.

“Let’s go. We have more important things to do.” Yunho said and went back inside the car without even sparing a single glance at Jaejoong. The car drove away and left Jaejoong beside the road.

It was such a huge blow to Jaejoong that his mind went blank. He couldn’t think of anything. He didn’t know what to do. He didn’t have the strength to move. His body finally couldn’t take it and he fell into a sitting position on the side of the road. He leaned on the light post for support.

‘Yunho...you jerk...how could you...’ a tear escaped Jaejoong’s eyes.
