Finding Kakashi's name on the stone is a surprise. There is no date, but Sasuke knows the rough time of his former teacher's death. The slab seals the caves once used as emergency shelters and are now nothing more than a mass grave for Konoha.
Sasuke wonders how Kakashi died. In battle against Pein or crushed by the attack that had destroyed the village? Only Sakura and Naruto would have known enough to tell him, and neither had survived the war.
Turning from the stone Sasuke feels cold as the knowledge that he is truly alone now finally sinks in.
