Movie marathon

So yesterday I watched 3 LGBT-themed movies:

1. Shelter (2oo7)
This by far is the movie of the day. I absolutely love it for its good script and story. Not to mention, the movie is easy on the eye as Zach and Shaun are the most handsome couple compared to the other pairing from the other movies I watched. Added to that is the definite HEA ending, which I'm a sucker of, that gives any viewer's mood an uplift. And even with my limited experience with reviewing movies, I can say that both Trevor Wright (Zach) and Brad Rowe (Shaun) are great actors with great acting skills. On a side note, watching this movie brought to mind my longtime desire to get my hands (err.. feet?) on a skateboard. Seriously, that piece-of-board-on-wheels is a great mode of transport in suburb; if only I don't live in one of the most crowded places on the Earth in terms of number of people per square kilometer.

2. The War B0ys (2oo9)
Now this movie has good plot, interesting opening credit but is left with open-ended ending that is definitely not HEA/HFN; and that is a major pet-peeves for me (together with the hetero scene of the a second couple). This is not a movie to go for if you are looking for a light entertainment, because it has quite a sad story; and by the end of it, I was left with a bitter taste on my tongue.

3. Summer St0rm (2oo4)
I can't honestly review this movie as I only catched four fifth of it on y0utube. Together with what I perceived as inadequate translation, I couldn't get the whole storyline and was left feeling confused at the end. Anyway, I don't like the personality of the main character for reason I can't divulge without giving away the story. And this movie definitely does not have HEA/HFN ending; but it's not sad ending either.

So, after watching the movie in the descending order (as listed above), I had to go back and rewatch the first movie just to perk up my mood again and erase the bad taste and feeling of dissatisfaction the subsequent movies gave me.
