Once Kiba had gotten word of the Hokage's return, she had wasted no time in asking if there was anything more he could tell her. She had expected another no, not yet, keeping waiting, I will when I can... but instead she had gotten a yes and an instruction to find her team as soon as she could. ...Just what was going on?
"K-kiba-chan? Hoshino-chan...?" Whatever he'd been doing before was completely forgotten as he ran out to meet them, worry evident in his expression. Was someone hurt? Was sensei...? "What's wrong? What's happened...?!"
Please let everything be alright...

It didn't matter if he wasn't ready or if the girls were slightly out of breath. Movement needed to start happening again, and it needed to start happening now. That much Hoshino was dead certain of. What were they actually getting into? Who knew. More importantly, who cared? The team was together and they were going to see the Hokage because something was up with their sensei.

"Hokage's back," Kiba explained, glancing back at him. "I asked him if there was anything yet he could tell us, and he said it was unfair to leave us as they were. So he said to gather my team and go to the Hokage's Tower and he'll speak to us."

"So we'll be able to see sensei again...?"

The words came unbidden from Kiba's mouth as she stared at Tsurude in something akin to horror. Akako nudged her from behind, but she paid no attention to the ninken, her eyes remaining on the Hokage before him. She could tell that yes, he really was sorry, and there was a whole host of emotions swirling around him. But that didn't stop her from being absolutely stunned at what he had just announced, almost... casually.
"He's our sensei," she repeated again, voice a little helpless. "You... you can't..." yes he can, he's the hokage, don't say that "... I get he's being punished but that's... that's like you're punishing us too ( ... )

Sensei wasn't sensei anymore. They were being punished for their sensei's misjudgement, and Kureno had committed a crime that Hinaji would have never, ever expected.
...He didn't even know what to say. He just felt numb, although there was a spark of some feeling down deep, although he couldn't say if it was anger or worry or disbelief all warring together.
"...But that..." He looked down, not sure what else to say.
