fairly odd parent(s)

My dear father just sauntered in, came and stood beside me, inquisitively looking at the screen. I feel this is somewhat an invasion of my privacy. Does he think I'm likely to be looking at hardcore pornography and he can catch me and then slap my wrists? Is he trying to bond with me? Gosh, worse still; Was he trying to take an interest in ( Read more... )

My mom had a hard time trying to program the remote control last night. She was standing like an inch away from the tv, pressing the buttons and waving the remote in the air. She gives the remote to my sister & she fixes it in a minute. :p Then I hear my mom boot up the computer... and she says "JAAAAAMIEEEEEE! How do I do this internet thing?". We have shortcuts for absolutely everything on her desktop. Like online banking, e-mail, etc. And files in Notepad giving her detailed instructions on how to surf the net looking for her home decorating shows online. Hahaha. My mom can't even set the sleep timer on the tv, and she doesn't know how to answer my sister's cell phone.

The funny thing is, my mom is absolutely retarded when it comes to technology but my dad is probably worse. He's lived in Greece for over a decade and can't send an e-mail to save his life. :p

Hahahaha, my Mother hates technology so much, my seeming talent and aptitude for it stresses her out more than anything else. Apart from Gangsta Rap, she hates gangsta rap.

it's amazing, tim's mum is so calm whenever i see her, but she doesn't like when tim's on the computer for ages. i mean, she seriously put up with tim's party, what with newbie vomiting on her rug, and us taping josh to her bannister rails, and the general racket we made into the early hours of the morning. she likes all his crazy friends like luke, tom and i. but she doesn't like him using the computer all the time. i find it funny.

My parents are technologically impaired beyong belief. My dad has just came to grips with the video recorder, so we're giving him at least another five years before he can encounter the dvd player.
I read your previous entry. Nice to hear you're happy.
:)
Take care and all that jazz,

My Mum is getting surprisingly proficient with the DVD player these days. Hmmn, it all smacks of practise.

My mother cannot so much as double click a mouse. She hesitates horribly before even positioning the arrow on whatever it is she must click. It is truly nauseating.

My mother can't actually turn the computer on, as far as I know.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.
