Monday; Myungsoo/Sungyeol

Monday
Myungsoo/Sungyeol. PG. Fluff.
Sungyeol revises for his exam on a "No take-out" day. Plain domestic!Myungyeol.

Myungsoo steps out of the kitchen to find Sungyeol on the bed, with a Technical Writing textbook on top of him. He seems to be trying hard cramming all the information in but Myungsoo can see he's distracted by the heavy weight of the book. Myungsoo gets on the bed as Sungyeol flips around to land on his stomach.

"How many pages have you read?" Myungsoo asks, setting down a bowl of apples between them.

Sungyeol takes his fork and proceeds to jab on a slice. "Two. I had to re-read a lot of lines," he answers, his eyes watching Myungsoo taking his own textbook from the nightstand. "When's your exam again?"

"This Thursday." He withdraws and copies Sungyeol's position. He glances at the other and does a double take when he realizes the sunlight from the open windows in front of them is shining on Sungyeol's hair and face, illuminating his features. He decided to dye his hair back to black earlier this month, and Myungsoo had forgotten how much he'd missed it since the last time he saw it last year.

Sungyeol squints his eyes. He does that whenever Myungsoo stares.

"You're staring." To be honest, even after all this time, he still feels a bit uncomfortable whenever Myungsoo would look at him like that; his pupils would dilate and he would plaster this stupid smile on his face. It's good that he smiles a lot, Sungyeol thinks, but it's making his heart go pitter patter. Controlling a smile is also pretty hard.

Myungsoo grins before finally taking his eyes off Sungyeol. "Can't help it." He flips open his book and jabs on a slice of apple. "Want me to quiz you?" He remembers Sungyeol's exam is in two days. He never forgets Sungyeol's schedule.

"Nah, it's alright." He hooks his left leg to Myungsoo's right and begins to read again.

For a few minutes, only the sound of forks clattering in the bowl and the flips of pages are heard. But then Myungsoo only hears his fork clattering and his fingers flipping pages. It's too quiet, way too quiet. He didn't hear Sungyeol ruffling with his book either. He could be re-reading a whole page, but Myungsoo turns to look anyway.

And finds Sungyeol sleeping.

Myungsoo stares, unbelieving. Sungyeol had tucked his left hand under the book, his right hand hanging over the edge of the bed. Myungsoo flips the previous pages of Sungyeol's book. He had only read two more pages before falling asleep.

He sighs (pulling Sungyeol's right hand onto the bed because hanging it over the edge is bad for circulation) and decides not to wake him up.

.

Sungyeol rouses by a flick on his forehead. He opens an eye and frowns at Myungsoo's face looming over his. Myungsoo has that grin again in a matter of second, and his hand goes to smooth out the creases on Sungyeol's forehead.

"Dinner's ready," he says, placing a peck on Sungyeol's lips. He gets up and heads to the kitchen.

Sungyeol's left there, trying to piece back his consciousness and wipes a short trail of drool from the corner of his mouth (apparently he's been drooling on a picture of a businesswoman) and remembers it's Monday. He had promised Myungsoo last week that he'd cook (because Monday is the "No take-out" day). He abruptly jumps out of the bed and walks a few small steps towards the kitchen.

Myungsoo is turning off the stove when he feels an arm circling his waist, another arm emerges from behind him to take his hand that is still on the stove knob, before placing it on his stomach.

"I'm sorry you had to cook," Sungyeol pouts, resting his head on Myungsoo's shoulders. "I promise I won't fall asleep next week." He inwardly puts the blame on the book because all he could see were blocks of sentences and it was like a crappy-but working-lullaby for him.

Myungsoo puffs out a chuckle. "You better keep that."
