I can't say much. I've held it together pretty well all night. But when I saw a photo of Brind A'mour hoisting the Cup, I just bawled my eyes out. I was waiting for Smytty to do that. That's all I wanted. But we are so proud. The crowds here have been amazing. In Rosario's, we all stood and sang "Oh Canada", and it was moving. But I still want to cry. I am so happy they did so well. Lost by a miniscule 2 goals. But they're our heroes, and they made us feel more like the City of Champions than ever.
I am exhausted, and relieved that it's over, because this kind of incredible hype and excitement is draining, yet worth every minute. This team has so much more coming. I just thought that we were meant to win this one. What hurts the most, is being so close.
