1. What did you do in 2003 that you’d never done before?
I took care of my partner Cameron, who was recovering from surgery, and completely dependent on me.
2. Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't remember what my last year's resultions were (or even if I had any!). But the process of making resolutions, even if you don't 'keep' them, can still be helpful to gain some perspective on what you think is important in your life.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
I'll miss Pat Harlan.
5. What countries did you visit?
None :-(
6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
More time to go traveling to faraway places!
7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
August 18th, it's the date I started my new job.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Quitting a job I didn't like, and getting a new one that's great, in a job market that sucks.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not keeping in touch with my straight friends.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Minor colds.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
A *beautiful* 21" LCD monitor. It makes digital pictures of garbage cans look gorgeous.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
The Supreme Courts of the United States and the State of Massachusetts.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
The usual suspects: Bush, Scalia, Rumsfeld.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Getting my new job!
16. What song will always remind you of 2003?
There's a dance remix of "San Francisco (Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair)" that will always remind me of this time.

Much happier!

Definitely fatter.

A bit richer.
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Travel!

Fret about a job I didn't like.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Already spent it in Lodi with my family.
21. How will you be spending New Year's?
Cuddling with my honey!

That happened 6 years ago for me...

(Blush) oh, maybe 2 or 5 or so...
24. What was your favorite TV program?
Some interesting TV programs on DVD now: Six Feet Under, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Twin Peaks.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Dick Gephardt, I wish he'd drop out of the race for President.
26. What was the best book you read?
Four Ways to Forgiveness (Ursula K. Leguin)
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
The SFGMC, and it's strong musical community. I'm trying not to buy any more CDs from the major labels, because of the obnoxious attitude of the RIAA.
28. What did you want and get?
The compete super-duper collector's edition set of all the Star Trek movies.
29. What did you want and not get?
Gosh, I think I've got all the things I want right now... I'm very lucky!
Well, ok, I've always wanted some Astronomy software (e.g. Starry Night Pro 4.5).
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I saw very few movies this year, most on DVD.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 33 this year, and I did nothing special that day.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Dumping Sprint PCS as my cell phone service.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?
Casual is cool.
34. What kept you sane?
My partner Cameron.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I fancy Russel Crowe with beard.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The Lawrence vs. Texas Supreme Court Decision.
37. Who did you miss?
I miss Carlos Mosca.

There's a cutie in ECR's new class, but alas he's only interested in daddy leather bears.

I'd like to get to know Paul Perrotta better.

It's amazing how many friends you have when there's a crisis in your life.
