hello hello hello people

Oh look, this is the internets.
Hello, I have not vanished. Instead I have been on the train, to London and back. I went to the Alexandra Palace to drown in wool, and lo there was so much wool that I had an insulin reaction and went a bit wobbly, and my family had to stuff me with chocolates. I still managed to buy ten balls of this in shade 6 for less than half the price listed. I love it a lot, but am worried that it isn't enough to make anything wearable. I may just have to make a nest out of it. I also bought another ten balls of Texere's Wensleydale Aran in the same orange colour as I have at home. I know that I have enough of that to make lots of lovely stuff now... What I will make, I do not know.

I also fell in love with the work of this artist: Hillu Liebelt. Her work was strangely moving, very clean and beautiful. Both my mum and I wanted things she had made.

In another life, the life where I work in theatre, or am a wildly succesful potter who sells work for thousands, I would wear a felted green coat that I saw which had no price on it, but I bet would have cost over a thousand quid. I would also be slighly slimmer than I am now, and less clumsy. In that same life I have a gorgeous flat with polished wood floors, and a workshop set in a garden. Working out these other lives is sometimes more fun than living my real one. Still, my real life is quite good, despite the mess.

Yesterday I drove to Knowsely Safari Park for a meeting and saw not a single animal, because I left straight afterwards to avoid traffic on the motorway of doom. I do know that the Gorgeous Sarah was charged by a rhino (possibly driving a zoo vehicle around a safari park is not the wisest course of action), and that the baboons taunted others of our visiting cohort by licking their windscreen wipers and making eye-contact in a knowing manner.

I am looking forward to seeing dr_wez and the_mendicant this weekend at different times.
