Up way too early
Yesterday I got to go to the garden in Brier & work a bit.
Butch had picked up $400 worth of lumber for $100 and was building boxes to terrace the side of the hill. So I helped build a box, fill 2 boxes, & we sowed a 10-ft box worth of carrots & about 2 feet of beet seeds. I'm so very much looking forward to this summer in that garden...
I have to get over there next time its nice out & do some work in that garden. Digging out where the beds will go, if nothing else.
Today I got dragged out of bed at 10 am by a bored & awake freak, so we went to Manna Mills down in Montlake Terrace. I love that place. Its a health food store, and I recognize a lot of the brand names they carry, and they actually HAVE a lot of the stuff I need/want that I can't find anywhere else. Like Nature's Gate Hemp shampoo & conditioner. That stuff makes my hair HAPPY. (and it smells good.) I asked, but their distributor doesn't offer it in 1-gallon jugs... So i'm stuck buying it by the little bottle for now. Oh well. At least it takes me MONTHS to go through a bottle of that stuff.
Now... We'd picked up this 7-grain (5 grain?) hot cereal in their bulk section & I cooked some when I got home. A little crunchy, I needed to cook it a little longer, but it'll probably go easier next time - since I'll be cooking a 2-person batch. I used my smallest saucepan but it was STILL a bit too big to cook 1/4 cup of the stuff.
I'm looking forward to this weekend. Friday i'm planning on driving around with my coupons, & flyers, & shopping list... & doing the sort of thing that makes Grocery Store Chain Owners cringe. I have an excel document & I know how to use it... Not to mention I know to take it to Grocery Outlet when I go there first, to make sure i really AM getting the best deal on something. Yes, I have no life. But its fun.
Otherwise... Finishing coffee, then going to take a shower with my new conditioner.
