Iron Nani, from before she was Iron Nani

I suppose I could blame it on talking to Eiken-Mai last night until the batteries on my cellphone went dead. Or the fact that for some odd reason, I can't seem to leave my kitchen today - not because of anyone or anything preventing me, I just can't seem to bring myself to go elsewhere in the house. So i've been cooking & cleaning in between rattling around aimlessly, despite I feel no significant need to actually do either, it's just something to do.

But the thing i'm blaming is this recipe. Well, sort of a recipe. We started talking about food - canned pork & beans, in particular - and this recipe is pretty much the only reason canned pork & beans are allowed to exist. Because baked beans? I can understand those. Plain beans as well, they go into soup. But pork & beans? Nope. No real justification for their existence, except for this.

Justification for the Existence of Pork & Beans

1 can pork & beans
1 hunk of ground meat (sausage, chicken, beef, whatever. anything up to 1 lb.)
1 onion, chopped or sliced up
Worcestershire sauce
bbq sauce

Brown the ground meat with the onions. Dump in the can of pork & beans. Add Worcestershire sauce, as much as you like, & a good glorp of bbq sauce. stir together until simmering.

Serve & eat over rice.

Its great as is, or you can add whatever thingies you feel like throwing in... I even make it now & then.

rice, pork, beans, iron nani, onions, bbq, beef, chicken
