"The Last of Us" - Episode 3
Okay, so this is one of those episodes which breaks the narrative and gives more flavor to this world.
Basically we get a flashback episode involving two more characters, survivalist Bill and Frank, the outsider ends up keeping Frank company. We get to see the two of them build a life together. We also get to see their interactions with Joel, the Mandalorian, and Tess. At least I learned their names. I think the girl is Elle, too. But Frank and Bill made a more lasting impression on me than any of the other characters, so far.
Most of this was a flashback episode and it was okay, heavy on character work, but light on story. So far, this series has a very weird tone, though. The first episode seemed like it was going to be Resident Evil, the second the Walking Dead, and the third, "This is Us." I'm hoping there is going to be a more consistent tone in the future.
