Rush Limbaugh sucks..and other things.
I *heart* Michael J. Fox and everybody and anybody else who has any type of chronic disease. It's amazing what some people have to go through every single day just to live. I have diabetes, and that's awful enough, but thank heavens that I'm not on insulin yet. I hope to never be on insulin. But how many other people are? And how many are developing kidney disease or other complications that may lead to amputation, blindness or death? How many babies are born every day with muscular dystrophy? I have a friend with multiple sclerosis -- is she faking when she can hardly walk? What about the possibility of one day discovering cures for all these problems? Just argh.
And no, I'm not advocating the idea of making lil' clones so we can just harvest the organs. But, speaking as someone who was pregnant and had children, lemme just say that no, an embryo isn't a baby. Not yet. I think for it to be a baby there has to be intent and implantation. No I don't always agree with abortion, I can't imagine not wanting a child but still -- these embryos are frozen. I mean they're popsicles. They're going to be thrown out in the trash. Why not give them a little dignity and let them be used to possibly help some other person not have these awful diseases?
::Head desk head desk head desk:: I'm not even making sense but I just know that I don't like this era we're all living in right now. I hate the idea that some people out there think you can legislate morality or belief (and I'm a Christian! I was saved when I was 12 so don't bother me about not having beliefs -- I DO)
when God never made people do anything. (Hello? Garden of Eden? Adam and Eve???)
AND I THINK THEY OUGHTA LET GAY PEOPLE GET MARRIED IF THEY WANT TO. So there.
Rant over. For right now I think.
