It’s 4 AM and dark outside. The spring peepers are loud. Rain keeps landing on the plastic that protects me from it. It’s dripping off of the roof, it’s like camping and hearing it from in a tent. My health has been pretty bumpy lately. I’ll tell you about it.
My son has a project we’re working on, he’s building a little gazebo. I’ve been helping him screw post into the ground. So for about two or three days after he comes, it’s really hard to move.
I caught a cold a few weeks ago. my doctor says the reason I’m so full of congestion, stems from the postnasal drip, which fills up my lungs and causes me to cough.
I drank a bunch of orange juice the other day, having a container in the car. I drank it over a few days. so I have a UTI. After talking with ChatGPT about it, I see that the orange juice couldn’t have caused it because it’s caused by E. coli. I do drink water out of the pond as I have for 25 years. Could this be the source of the E. coli? And then the orange juice , gave it some wonderful nutrition to grow? And yet I’ve been eating honey infused with ginger. Doesn’t kill bacteria? Anyway, are one of the most painful thing in life. I used to have them when I was a little girl. And now this is the second one I’ve had in six months or a year.
I talked to my doctor yesterday about my wrist. It feels like there’s a little chip of bone that keeps floating around and getting in the wrong place and making it hard to use my wrist. Writing is difficult after a while.
So I asked the doctor to refer me to my , or a orthopaedic surgeon. Perhaps they could just make a little tiny slice reach in with tweezers, and remove that shard. It’s too small too put a pin in, so it was not set when my wrist was broken.
Instead of just being able to refer me to someone, my doctor had this whole computer form she had to fill out. It took forever. When did it start, Locating the emergency office report, finding x-rays, trying to find which doctor said it, what exactly happens and why it bothers me. And exactly where in my wrist is this.
I cancelled the use of antidepressants. I had gotten off, select, citalopram, and had changed to duloxetine. But when I went in for , a follow up on it, the fatigue and dizziness and shortness of breath were part of the side effects. But instead of even talking it up to that, or thinking there was possibility it was that, instead, she sent me to emergency because it could’ve been my heart.
So I lost confidence in my doctor.
So now that I’ve been off these antidepressants, which I went off of because of the constipation and fatigue. Who needs fatigue when you’re 68! When I got there and she asked what she could do for me, I said I have quite a few things. She said I could talk to her about two of them. The enormous amount of time it took her to refer me to a doctor for my Wrist, made me realize why she could only tackle two things. The second was the bronchitis. Ordered me a puffer and a postnasal drip spray. I think it will work.
Now that pharmacist are allowed to prescribe for UTIs, I was able to just phone the pharmacy and not have to have an appointment or discuss this situation with her.
I asked about. I thought perhaps I could lose weight. I don’t wear a lot more than I’m supposed to, but I’m considered to be according to the silly charts. I’m pushing 200.
She said that Ozempic has many side effects, one of which is slowing down your metabolism in your gut which causes constipation. When she said that, Clinched it for me, I don’t wanna be constipated. I don’t wanna end up with hemorrhoids. I don’t like the feeling of my stomach being too full. So I quit the idea of Ozempic
And has lost a whole pile of weight. Half a bushel or so
So I got out of the doctors office having my five situations discussed, even though I could only do two. One was just to cancel the depress anti-depressants, the other was to ask about. Of course, the UTI stuff I didn’t do with the doctor, but with the pharmacist. I’m glad that Has made it so much easier and taking this off of the healthcare system to simply have a pharmacist listen to the symptoms and then prescribe needed. I’ve been going for walks. Not every day because sometimes it’s raining.
I’ve spent some time sitting by the pond watching the turtles. I spent time watching the muskrats. I spent time listening to the sound of the spring running into iceberg pond and the waterfall also running down the hill into the pond. All the ponds are open now. I went into see serenity Didi pond, and the little grass hunt on horseshoe Island from the other side.
I got water in my crocs. It was ice water. So then I had to find another pair of shoes or footwear. I’ve been wearing my tall Canadian Tire rubber boots. They’re more like plastic than rubber. They have big orange flowers all over them. But I am able to slip my feet in and take my feet out by holding onto the heel with my other foot. so these appear to be working pretty well.
I filled up another journal. I have been writing a lot of stuff in my journal lately. Scarlett is coming back to life again. She does such a lovely job. She has a busy life now with hours of farm chores a day. it takes me back. I’m glad I’ve had experiences that I’ve had. I’m also glad that I have finished having those experiences.
