I've been up for quite awhile, enjoying forwarding photos to Tas to put on the wall for baby Zane.
Meanwhile it's been freezing rain for the whole night. So we get to stay home as a family today!
Daniel came down to the pond with us. He wanted to cut down a branch and make a bow and arrow. But the alders bend and have no spring, I think. Well, he used ones that were too fat and broke.
I tried breaking the ice again. It had slush on the ice on the pond. Daniel got into throwing sticks on the pond and broke through the ice with them. They were still floating, though. The breeze will blow them to shore next spring, I believe.
The pond is quite deep, you know, it's back up over the patio stone pathway by the willows in the shallows. I'm glad it's got more water in it now than it did at this time last year!
We had a wonderful time with Tisch and Graham this afternoon. The freezing rain turned snow didn't keep them away!! Yippee! I was so glad they came.
They are such awesome downhome people. I just love them to pieces! I wish they would come over more, like regularly! We're definately going to be doing the Christmas dinner with them on their own day every year. I like small groups best sometimes!
We've had two lovely Christmas celebrations, and another on Tuesday. I'm so glad to be part of such a loving wonderful family! I was sad that Kayla didn't come. frown emoticon
Daniel and Graham really get along well. He lived with Tisch and Kayla years ago in Ottawa. Daniel used to go over to Tisch's when he was small and played with Kayla, his niece who is more like a cousin than next generation! They are a few months apart in age.
I made storebought lasagne, au gratin, thai veggies with Gado Gado sauce. Stollen, apple pie and ice cream, too.
