Wonderful day being Grandma!

We went over to Alida's and played with Desmond. He's such a darling. They play such cute games together. He opens his mouth and Alida opens hers, then he closes his and she closes hers. He played this game with me. I played with him with his yogurt. He likes feeding himself, but holds onto the end of the spoon so he can't really put it in his mouth properly!

Opa Willem came over soon after Mary and I. He played the piano which fascinated Desmond. Alida loves the Romanian Folk Dances by Bela Bartok. So he played that. Desmond wanted to get up in Willem's lap several times. Willem held his little hands and plyed an easy piece with him.

Desmond calls him Opie! He had a gret time with Willem. He cried when Opa left! Awww.

We went around doing some errands, then came out to our home and went to the pond. Desmond liked the freedom of being able to just walk around on Kingfisher Lane and reach down to touch the stones.

We took him in Jopi Tipi where Alida put some waterproof swimming diaper on him, his suit and some water wings. It was so cute. The water was too cold for him so he didn't like it.

Instead, I got in the kayak and paddled him around in the shallows all the way around the pond. We had a lichen coloured tree frog from a cattail stem! He liked to sit on the kayak where it was quite warm. Desmond was very careful to just touch him with his finger on the back. He can now say Frau, the beginning of frog. He also says kayaking, Ka ka.

After awhile, he wanted to go to Mommy, so we came back to Alida who took him into the tipi.

We drove up to the house and Opa carried Desmond up the hill. I had set up his swing on the swing set frame in the yard so when we came up, he could just go for a nice ride in there.

We brought the chairs around him and the porch swing we just fixed up. It was so nice to watch him and to blow bubbles with him.

None of my flowers are in bloom yet.

Alida came inside and I gave Desmond a bath in the new upstairs sink which fits him almost perfectly. It was so nice to have them back here again even for a little while!

We drove them home and took sleeping Desmond around the long block while Alida shopped. What a wonderful day we had!

Afterwards, we sat in the yard by the robin's nest and I used my selfie stick to take photos of the babies in the nest. They were adorable.

We studied the 12 step LDS book for awhile, I, Willem and Mary. He did deliver me from bondage. It has such good points for us to think about and to ponder and discuss.

Mary and I took a white chair and my violin up to the top of Wildflower Hill where we sat for a little while. I played a few tunes, then we came down the hill and I mowed another swath of path down to Everfar Labyrinth.
