To Esther's island for the day

Alida slept overnight with the baby while Jean cleaned up their little cottage which was pretty messy from a former occupant. It was wonderful to spend time with her and the baby. By about noon we heard from the folks on the island and were good to go.

We only went 40 minutes out of our way. Other than that it was a smooth quick drive!

MJ and I drove over to the marina where we met Annie and went out to the island for the afternoon. It was nice they were in town anyway, so we didn't put them out.

Esther and Dick are wonderful cooks. They made some amazing bbq pulled pork and cole slaw!

AFter sitting around chatting in the screen house eating Josh's chocolate for awhile, we played scrabble with Esther and Donnie. She won. So what else is new! Annie helped us, though, so she would have won by a bigger amount otherwise!

We sat around the campfire warming up our toes. It was quite chilly today. No rain, though!

It was nice to see Virginia again. She's all grown up. Esther's niece. Dick, Justin and Josh caught some mighty big fish. Donnie, who was visiting from down the road, was a fishing guide for many years. He knows all the lakes within 80 miles, he said. He told us about the trollers that catch 25 lb fish in our nearest lake and where abouts they find them. He's fascinating.

Annie drove us across the lake in the boat, my semi annual boat ride. The other semi annual bout ride is on the way over to the island!

We drove Donnie home, then took the long way home. MJ hadn't seen Westport before, so we went that way.
