Since I don't want to be alone so much, I invited Maryjane over early! She usually comes Labour Day weekend, so this year she'll come twice! I love laughing with her. She's so much fun!
We left Brampton from Linda's and drove on a ton of roads to get up the 400 and then over under Lake Simcoe to Maryjane's. I enjoyed driving. The area just outside of toronto, just to the north is quite pretty and scenic. There are lots of farms in there, too.
We got to her house around 10:30, and picked up Maryjane. She's going to come over and see the flowers in July! They are so lovely now and she never gets to see them in bloom!
We had a lovely drive home. I had a list Willem had made for me which she read and we discussed. I have so many ideas but I forget what they are so I don't get busy and do them!
We stopped at an antique junk shop on the way. I have the fog bell we used to call the kids and which my parents used to call us children home. It would be nice to have the piece that screws into the wall that holds it!
1:30pm We stopped at a market. It was so nice. We met Willa Wilbur selling ostrich soap. She had some huge ostrich eggs, which she was quite thrilled with.
I bought a bunch of little copper flower stakes for about $1.50 each. It was nice to be at the market since we were missing ours at home.
We stopped at the Freshmart in Marmora for some expensive groceries. We ate our Tim Hortons cookies on the way home and arrived sometime in the mid-afternoon.
Abe was at Chantal's and happy to stay there for the time being.
I showed Maryjane the new bathroom upstairs. George had been over and had put in the two wider doors into the downstairs bathroom. I showed her the new windows and where I wanted to put more of them. I want one in the upstairs loft over Willem's office. Maryjane suggested emptying out the loft and then using it for my weaving and craft storage. Excellent idea! I have no idea how I'll do it, get rid of so much stuff that is stored in there at the moment, but there must be a way!
George also fixed the broken floor in front of the living room porch door. He took a dozen jars of stored soybeans and others out from under there before he sealed it all up. It can be tiled there now! Wonderful!
We tidied up in the house. her bedroom needed the mattresses put down on the floor and clean bedding. We also tidied up the downstairs bedroom. I had to hang the clothes racks back up on the doors and remove the rugs and the bar stool. Maryjane vacuumed and I replaced the last board on the edge of the floor. That downstairs bedroom looks great, now! Ready for Oma Lily almost!
We moved the barstools and round table to the weaving room, piano room, which will now be the dining room, I guess. We also moved the big white table into the kitchen, with much duress. It all looks so much better now.
Covered in shine, we went to the pond for a swim, which was much needed after all that tidying up. I was glad to lower my body temperature and share the awesomeness of the pond with her!
She loves how much light is in the bedrooms upstairs now! We sat on my brown loveseat and went online. I did genealogy from my Canadian ancestors book while she worked on facebook. We didn't go to bed too early.
