While the campfire slowly smolders beside the Crystal Palace tipi

Willem and I made four trips to the dump, each time with a car full of windows from the Crystal Palace Tipi. We took down all but three windows which are hard to reach. There is still some plastic up there at the top, along with two very wet tanned deer hides.

I was so glad we were able to do so much work, but still have a clean lane at the end of the day! Usually there is so much trash accumulated along the edges of the lane that it's quite a mess to look at. It is still a mess, but it's not as bad as it would be if the dump hadn't been open today.

I went to Home Depot while Willem had a nap. I bought three more planks for the bedroom floor and trim for the three windows I've put in. The fellow sliced one of the 12" ones to a six and another to a ten. I probably should have just bought a six and a ten. Duh.

An old friend phoned when I got home. I raked the driveway and burned all the pieces of bark and wood bits that I had gathered up. It burned very slowly for hours. Willem and I worked away at pulling windows off the tipi. He broke the glass in a large garbage container. It's a very heavy container of glass now.

I'm glad the tipi poles will have a chance to dry out now. I'm not sure what we will do with it, but it is coming along at the moment. It's definitely much safer now. :) The end of an era, for sure!
