We had the adjustor look at our situation again. She figured out the amount of work we were entitled to have done, the downstairs plumbing and the kitchen and living room floors and two cupboards. She subtracted the work they had done upstairs on the plumbing and the flood in the bedroom which they should not have covered, and figured out how much they should have paid for the work. We owed them $1500, which we have now paid to them.
Because the price of the plumbing throughout the house was so high, which they already did, we are left with the completion of the job on our own penny. It doesn't make a lot of sense, but looking at the numbers, it's all correct.
So we now need to put down a floor in the kitchen, the bathroom and the bedroom, as those have been removed. We also have to put the drywall back up on the ceiling in our bedroom and in the bathroom and in the weaving room wall.
We do have a lovely new bathroom. The plumbing throughout the house works except for the downstairs bathroom tap which needs to be replaced and the showerhead needs to be twisted to be in the proper spot. The plumbing in the basement still leaks and the septic still leaks in the basement, too.
I'm glad they were able to sort out the claim so that it didn't include the part of the house that froze the second time. They are covering the first freeze and flood because we had drained the pipes and left the heat on. However the second flood occurred after we'd refilled the pipes with water and turned off the heat. So that is our own uninsured problem. We have paid out a lot of money on all of this electrical and plumbing already.
It's a rainy dreary day, so my mood isn't too energetic. But I am in our bedroom relaxing. I would like to finish the weaving room floor. I think we have the flooring we need to do it with.
Too bad they made such a mess out of the bathroom floor. But it is dryer now that they removed so much of the floor on top of the subfloor and blew it with the dryer and dehumidifier for so long.
