Deer watching

A lovey large deer has arrived porch side. Wolf is coming up behind now. Wolf's twin is also on his way up to the porch. I'm being pretty daring here watching them this close to the door.

They don't like being this close to the house. There was a lot of noise here yesterday. I had opened the bathroom observatory window while the plumbers made lots of fumes yesterday with all their flux and other smelly stuff. The deer could hear the racket from outside and were not at all at ease with it. I even told the plumbers that they were scaring the deer! In jest of course, as they'd drop things into the bathtub with a rattle and clang.

There are four of them at the door now. Oops the alpha is doing some stepping on others, too.

Ten minutes later:

It was hard to hold still for so long. I watched them for awhile, four deer, all pretty timid about coming up to eat from the porch, a sunken metal desk outside the bedroom door on Hilltop Deer Café. But they did, three of them, anyway. I sat motionless and just watched them.

Finally they all moved away enough that I could get out my iPod camera and take videos. I stopped and started them, according to the action happening outside. Good way to keep it close and not let the deer being far away and somewhat out of clarity monopolize the video.

The wind is picking up now. We got about two inches of snow, or at least that is what is on the post outside the bedroom window.

They have all gone away now. Something scared them. I think they raise their tails when they can see the danger, but run with their tails tucked beneath them when they hear something but don't see what it is.
