Montreal Temple today

We were supposed to be out of Ben's house and on our way to Montreal by 6:30, so we'd be in time for the 9am session. But it was 7:30 when we woke up. We hummed and hawed about it, then decided we'd try to make it for the 10Am session.

I didn't know which way to go to the temple, the way I'd gone before, so tried what I could. We ended up taking the 40 and then the 20. We were late enough that there wasn't' so much traffic. I was using the gps, so was smarter about when to turn and when not to.

I stayed in the left lane all the time to avoid the mandatory exits that appear in the right lane every km or less.

I looked up the address on www.lds.org, put the phone number in my phone and away we went. The scenery was wonderful. The highway is quite wide with wide shoulders. Lovely forests lined the road. It was a nice drive.

So we made it to the temple. I took a photo to go along with the phone number in my cell phone. It was a cold day. I hadn't realized that the montreal temple was the exact duplicate of the Palmyra temple, minus the window overlooking the sacred grove and the forest stained glass murals and windows.

French is the main language in the Montreal temple, so because there were a couple more English speaking people, we didn't have to wear headsets.

I fell asleep and battled to stay awake. It was nice to be a patron instead of a temple worker. I enjoyed the experience again. I didn't learn anything cos I was dozing a lot.

We sat in the celestial room for a very long time. I had a lot to pray about. My goodness what a lot to pray about amid this time of crisis. I was so glad to be filled with the spirit in that room again. I had needed that.

We left the temple when it closed and arrived back in Ottawa at 4:20, later than we'd planned.

montreal temple, spiritual, temple
