12 pm
I got up around 7, uploaded a lot of little videos and read some of my facebook stuff and mail. I'm glad Mera’s pot luck is post poned for a week so I may be there if we’re not at Ben’s.
I went for a walk to the road and back. The rocks in the stream are surrounded by ice. They look beautiful and rounded. It was cold, but I was war enough with gloves, Joyce’s soft pink scarf and my thin spring jacket over my green sweater.
I’ve never seen any ice in this stream before. So interesting to be experiencing this deep freeze. I'm usually amazed at how warm it is.
I worked on my laptop and combined a bunch of videos I’d uploaded overnight so there won’t be so many tiny ones in one day.
Dick made us bacon and eggs. It was so nice of him. He likes to cook. Willem and I checked the weather ahead on our journey. The great lakes are giving up their moisture. They’ve had a lot of snow in Watertown as that's on the east side of Lake Ontario in the snowbelt. It’ll be three feet by this evening, I guess. I-81 may be closed along there. The NYS thruway is closed from Rochester to Buffalo.
I called Jen to let her know we’ll be coming today. We left Esther’s around 10am. The sky is overcast. Instead of our usual path paralleling I-81, I used the same little shortcut I used yesterday right over the mountain. That was so much shorter. There is snow on the mountain sides as we march along.
We’ve stopped for gas and at the West Virginia tourism rest area for free maps. I’ll plug Morganmay, Carla, docswife, and my cousin on my map.
Willem’s driving. I fell asleep while writing this. There is an oppressive cloud up ahead across the whole horizon. The edge of the front, for sure. It’s grey with a sharp blue edge on the west sky before it, but the cloud cover the east of us already is white. I think it is two groups of clouds.
So at the Pennsylvania line, it is more dreary. There is some snow covering the ground, but it's bare in open areas. It is -6C. It was -5C when we left Esther’s.
