Christmas preparations

My back hurts too much to do anything but sit in my chair. Willem and I just went for a walk around the roundabout at the top of our dead end road a few laps. I have been weaving on the fourth dish towel a little bit while Willem was starting the fire and such.

He's gone out to see if he can close the door of the turkey shed. I didn't notice it being open till the snowstorm the other day.

He's bringing in wood again, filling up the pile beside the woodstove. It's so helpful to have it in here! This is still the pile from the lane.

I fired the glaze run last night. I didn't use good glaze, it was much too thin. I expect that thw whole kiln will be filled with imperfectly glazed cups. The bowls should be better, though. I did a better job with them, as the glaze is thicker on them. I hope.

I got up at 3am to turn it up to high, then at 6:45 I woke up again, having overslept. Thank heavens the kiln setter had worked! I didn't have a good alarm set. I need to figure that out ahead of time next time.

It's snowing hard now. The mop grass was waving back and forth beside the fortress. I could see it while I was weaving.

I love the process of weaving. I'm so glad to have a nice pattern on the loom right now. It's so pretty. Swedish Point. It's a kind of Monk's Belt.
