Bisque Fired my new to me kiln today
Yesterday Joanne came over and helped me load my kiln with 30 of my bowls and my little teapot.
This morning:
At 7 I turned on the kiln to low with the lid an inch open.
At 11 I closed the lid, still on low
At 1 I turned it up to medium
At 3 I turned it up to high
At 5 the cone 06 bent over. I turned the kiln off.
It was hard to see in the hole. Joanne says to use a welder's goggles to see into it. Hmmm...where will I find one of them?
I'll open the lid a little tomorrow morning and see if it's cooled down yet.
I didn't hear any popping noises while the kiln fired. That's a very good sign!
