I went to Canadian Tire for stuff for the fixtures and for the wiring in the kitchen. While I was gone, Brian put the holes in the ceiling and fished the wires through the ceiling. It's wonderful to see this idea taking shape! He put the power back on before he left for the day.
We got a lovely thunderstorm! We needed the rain, but not nearly as badly as some do. I wonder how the soap under the plants worked. I hope it helped the rain to sink in and nourish the roots.
I went to Home Depot where I bought three matching ceiling fixtures, instead of all these odd fixtures from the reuse center, that I've got for putting up at the moment. I also bought light bulbs for them.
They had kitchen cabinets for sale, too. The white ones in the separate boxes. They were supposed to be $99 ech, but were on sale for $69. However, when rung through, they came up at $39! I am so glad I went and got four of them. I've been quite impressed to go get them for the past day or so. I'll have to go back and get some more tomorrow if I can. Perhaps early in the morning? But they probably don't open till 10, which is when Brian is coming to do the wiring. Anyway, I bought four of the narrow ones that will go between the fridge and the dining room wall. That's a narrow area because of the door.
I got home around 8, so Willem had been home already for a few minutes.
I made some dinner. Yes indeed! Canned corn, canned carrots, canned turkey mixed together with water and gado gado sauce that Oma Lily sent over for us. I must thank her!
