I set some videos to upload and sat on the porch swing in the backyard, in maple cove. I think it's better for my back to sit instead of to lean back in the recliner. I'm not sure yet.
I went over to Mera and dug up some thyme from under the lilacs at the fence row where it won't be missed.
I have been in Everfar Labyrinth in the sun planting it in the areas that I hadn't planted it yet.I got very hot out there and was ready to jump in the pond.
I am about to go down to the pond and plant the rest on the south bank. I think I am going to punt on having the pond dug out the rest of the way until there is a problem and a need for it. I am moving some videos to this 4gig card to put on the other laptop, the one that has a bad screen. I've got a monitor on the table where I can use it to make sure something can be uploading while I take this computer away.
Lying here in maple cove, I see that the elm at the end of the hammock at the top of the hillside, the one that holds the winter hammock, is dead this year. Oh, wait, there are a few green leaves, but there are now dead brown leaves, too. That is the Dutch Elm disease that has finally gotten here. It took 35 years to get here from southern ontario where it had already killed trees on the fence rows of our farm.
So that one is dead. I guess I'm supposed to remove every trace of the tree so it won't spread. But the tall tree overshading the end of the house is dying, too; there are dead branches here and there in it.
