A Jen Notebook of quills and birchbark; finished antler basket #5

I worked on my basket, the wool, antler, plaited ash splint basket, and finally finished it. It's quite a nice basket.

It even holds my laptop, sorta!

I worked on it beside the water, then went collecting feathers to decorate it. I'm glad it's done. I feel much better now that I've eaten and finished the basket!

I worked on Jen's notebook. I used porcupine quills and wrote her name on a piece of birchbark which I folded over to hide the sharp ends of the quills.

I cut a pile of white paper in half with the cutter Mukwah gave me a couple of years ago. I also put holes in them with the long hole punch, then connected them all together with gold Chicago Screws. I need to cut the bark for the covers. I may just fold it in half and then put the chicago screws through it. I'm not sure at the moment, though.

I was glad I had all the items I needed for making this book. That was good planning. I also had all the straps I needed to finish this basket.
