Willem helped me to plant the bottom row of the terraces. There were two soaked bales of straw which we put around all the seeds we planted so that we won't have to worry about the weeds.
I planted the buttercup squash seeds that I'd gotten out of the squash the other day. They had dried enough to plant, I figured.
First I put the names on the yellow stakes, Buttercup Squash. Then we took them and the seeds down to the terrace. Willem dug holes and pulled out grass. I planted the seeds, then he brought over the straw which I arranged thickly around it on the weeds.
We came upon some heliopsis which we transplanted into the perennial slope.
We also planted the rose bayberry bush in the same garden.
