My morning so far

I slept in today. It was almost 7:30 when I got up and took Willem on a tour of the two birding cameras. One took 18 pictures overnight of deer ridge meadow. I wonder if they were blackflies, or if it got deer or other wildlife! I am quite curious.

I brought the other camera, which had taken 42 of the suet and then the soffit vent hole where the starlings are nesting, over to the bluebird house to see what is happening there on the gate.

The blackflies are bad today.

I showed him the perennial beds I'd dug up and recovered. He remembered the gazebo. I think I'd like it to be a gazebo again, in there.

I showed him the lane where I'd made a little progress on the big mess, then walked him up to his car. I heard that bird again, a long descending trill followed by five chirps. I'll have to look that up on the mnemonics page.

He left and I returned to the house, startling the starlings in the hole in the tree.

Today is a big day. It's my Mera day. Nordic walking, perhaps? Followed by my weaving at Mera and then our hunt for wild leeks. Gona be a blackfly day for sure!

I found some willow that were on the ground, moist from the dew and took them to find my antler. I had to go out to the tipi to retreive the drill bits. I guess I need to take some time to look at them individually and mark them where I want the holes to be for my ribbed basket. I'm quite keen on doing this! How exciting.

I see that my kiln is cooled off now. I'd like to open it and have a look at what has happened in there. I really need my head camera to be working for all of this. I want to record it on film so I don't lose it.
