Barbara saved some of the nettles around the edges of her yard for me to harvest. Last year she had a big patch, which I traded a year's supply of soap for.
I was tired when I went over there, but figured I'd just do it. I had my long handled foot-like clippers and a reacher as my tools and a few bath towels to lay the tall nettles on to carry them back to the car.
It is easy to clip several stems at a time, never having to bend over, and then gather them up with the reacher, putting them all in the same direction on the towel.
I must have harvested a thousand plants. It's hard to say. Every clip took about five to ten. Anyway, I cut it all, quite tired but not having to bend over, I was okay.
Barbara came out after awhile as I was gathering them up to leave and cut some more for me. I like her a lot. What a nice person.
