I rode my bike! Hide Depot

Sep 02, 2009 07:30

I wanted to do it yesterday, but today I did it! I took the bike down to the road and rode it back and forth. Nancy Today camera came along with me.

I discovered an unusual looking set of bones on the shoulder of the road. I'm not sure what it was. I think I found the teeth, though. I am assuming it is a raccoon's. It was at the bridge.

I am getting to have quite the bone collection. My mink should be ready now, too. So I guess I should put them all in separate containers so I can study them as I want. Perhaps I can use them for chimes or hands of clocks.

I have a deer skeleton, a porcupine, a mink's and an ermine's I believe. Yes indeed, a bone box. Like they used in England.

When I was sufficiently tired, or at least when my knees decided I'd ridden enough, I put down a board to widen the pathway to the tipi, then lay in the hammock. I had to fold it over in half so it wasn't wet.

I journaled and read my scriptures. Naturally I ate two menthos, as long as they were there and all!

I picked a blooming rose and found it doesn't smell! Shucks. I should dab a drop of roze fragrance on it! LOL.

the alder sticks that make up the woven sides of the tipi have been falling down. Since the ones at the bottom are shorter, they fall out when gravity gets them.

I pondered for awhile how to take care of it so it will look better. It is fine to me, but you know how the great 'they' is. Gotta keep 'them' happy. Or not.

I decided that I'd put up a sign 'hide depot' again so people can drop off their hides at the tipi. I will stretch them and scrape them, then I'll just leave them to harden on there. That will be the permanent cover for the tipi!

So today I must make a sandwich sign for the side of the road!
