Notes: Originally written as comment fic for Noah_who but it fits in with my other stories so I'm going to put it here. You do not have to read any of my other stories in order to understand this fic. Takes place late October 2010.

Summary: Another Sunday dinner at the Snyder Farm.
Reid was tapping his foot impatiently while waiting for Emma to finish saying grace. It was a small price to pay for her pot roast. If anybody noticed that Reid was reaching for the platter in front of him before everyone had finished saying ‘Amen’, no one said anything. Reid and Luke didn’t attend every Sunday dinner at the Snyder Farm but Luke’s sister Natalie had called Reid to let him know that Emma was making peach cobbler for dessert. That was Reid’s favorite.
"Fire anyone today?" Faith asked Reid.
"It was his first day as Chief of Staff, Faith. I’m sure he didn’t . . .Reid, you didn’t fire anyone on your first day as Chief of Staff, did you?" asked a worried Luke.
"Unfortunately, no," replied Reid. "But I’m looking at a doctor that I might force into early retirement. He’s an ob-gyn who hasn’t kept up with new technology or techniques. I’m not even sure if he knows how women get pregnant. Please tell me that Dr. Davidson didn’t deliver you. If he did, we should probably do a genetics test on you to make sure that the incompetent hack didn’t switch you with another baby.
"Actually, my dad delivered me," said Luke.
"Good Dad or Bad Dad?" asked Reid.
"This dad," said Luke while nodding his head towards Holden at the other end of the table..
"Wait, I’m Good Dad, right?" asked Holden.
Luke nodded while Faith snipped, "Well, Molly probably doesn’t think so."
"Faith," Emma admonished gently. Faith ducked her head and stabbed her fork into her mashed potatoes.
"Was Good Dad Hot Mom’s birthing coach or something?" asked Reid. He ignored Natalie’s expression of horror at hearing someone refer to her mother as ‘hot’.
"Since I only have the one mom, you don’t really have to refer to her as Hot Mom when you refer to her," sniffed Luke. "Anyway, Mom was visiting the farm. There was a huge storm and she went into labor here. Dad was the only one here and so he delivered me here on the kitchen floor. He’s delivered plenty of foals before."
"You were born here on the kitchen floor?" laughed an incredulous Reid.
"I have mopped the floor since then," Emma assured Reid.
Reid snorted. "So, your life has been one drama fest after another literally since you’ve been born?" he asked Luke.
"Don’t be ridiculous," said Luke. "Fall of 2004? Those few months were smooth sailing. No kidnappings or hospitalizations or long lost relatives."
"I guess I should be relieved that Dr. Davidson couldn’t have switched you with another baby," said Reid. "I’d hate it if I found out I was in love with a Pretender to the Throne of Walshdonia."
Luke grinned at Reid. He was such a sap. Tell Luke you loved him and he was happy as a clam.
"You wouldn’t have had to worry about that anyway," snarked Faith. "They had to do a paternity test on Luke when he was a baby."
"Faith," Emma admonished gently. Faith ducked her head and stabbed her fork into her green beans.
Reid raised his eyebrow at Luke while Luke turned bright red and scratched his ear. Holden stared at his plate. Natalie made a face of Horrified Realization.
"What’s a paternity test?" asked Ethan.
"It’s a test that they give some babies after they’re born," explained Luke. "Lots of babies in Oakdale have the test done sort of automatically."
"Okay," said Ethan as he cheerfully went back to building a mashed potato fort.
"So how long was it after your birth before you had your next drama?" asked Reid.
"Oh, I had to have brain surgery right after birth," answered Luke.
"Of course you did. It was foolish of me to have not realized that," said Reid.
"If it makes you feel any better, I found the Fall of 2004 to be kind of boring," said Luke.
