So, I'm getting some smack-talk at work. Not for anything work releated, but because I didn't sign up to get a flu shot. I don't get flu shots. I am a (realtively) healthy (relatively) young woman and therefore, I feel that I do not need to get flu shots. If I was a child, or a very, very old person who would be in dire straits if I caught a flu bug, I would most certainly get one. But since my own antibodies are (relatively) pulling their weight, I do not get jabbed with heebie-jeebie-cootie germs.
My question to posit to you all:
Is my reasoning in this matter unsound? There was some talk from a co-worker that the flu vaccinations this year are for some as-yet-un-immunized flu bug. This information may be from the most recent Modern Jackass Magazine, but since the guy got his information from a friend in the germ field, I suspect it was only a visit to the MJ website.
